		<description>You could try these; countdown clips on a chroma green background. Then you can overlay them onto your idea. they are commercial, but a quick and inexpensive solution to your problem compared to the price of AE.

		<description>Really, the best one I know of right now is After Effects.  It has a counter built in that can be reversed for a count down.  But you also have the ability to create looping compositions that allows the countdowns to be even more creative and involved.

I guess it would be possible to make a countdown with program that allows you to loop footage somehow (that would be so you don't have to edit each frame).  Programs like Final Cut Pro or even Macromedia Flash.
