iWorship

I was recently contacted by Albert Martin, a tech staff member at Granger Community Church. He told me that they used to use another presentation software at GCC for their lyric presentation, but between the quirky behavior and crashing, it became really frustrating for both he and the volunteers that run the program most of the time.

As a result, Albert has been developing a brand new piece of worship software from the ground up that “has proved to be both extremely stable and incredibly easy for our volunteers to learn and use” (he said he has trained volunteers in 15 minutes for what used to take at least twice as long). GCC has been using this every week since early this year.

The software is just wrapping up development and he’s released a FREE public beta for other churches to use and test. He currently has a very brief website up during the public beta period that gives a brief overview of iWorship along with several screenshots. A more thorough website is being prepared for the final release. Check it out HERE.

Albert will be talking about and doing Q&A about iWorship on our live podcast today (Thursday Nov 1st) at 2pm Eastern for anyone interested. Deets at http://www.churchITpodcast.com

I have been wondering what GCC uses.

I frequently check out there videos each week, and they have such a cool screen in the background but they can have several video feeds on the screen at once, plus moving bg’s, its amazing.

This is very cool to hear! I’m not a Mac guy, but I’m liking what I see. From the screen shots it looks extremely simple, whereas all the other software out there (Mediashout, Easyworship, etc…) all try and be this “all-in-one wonder” and it gets pretty cumbersome at times. We just bought an iMac, so I’ll have to try this out sometime this week…

Just wondering: Is there a copyright issue with Integrity’s iWorship CDs and DVDs?

  5. Albert Martin Says:

Jon, about the copyright issue: because my use of the name iWorship is not being used to sell CDs or DVDs and Integrity’s use of the name iWorship is not being used to sell worship presentation software there is no issue with the copyright. A trademark application is in the works to make this “official.” But legally, since these are two separate “classes” there is no problem.

I’m pretty sure that’s not the way copyright/trademark works, but best of luck with Integrity and Apple (they hold the iNames pretty close at hand)

I was wondering if you have any sort of time frame for iWorship’s full release.
