Catching Up
Posted by Church Video Ideas under Books, Church Media, Church video, Companies, Holidays, Media ministry, Products, Reviews, Worship resourcesI’m off work today and hope to catch up on some long overdue reviews. You would not believe the amount of products that I receive from companies/producers. I have a stack of unopened packages sitting on a shelf in my house. I hope to review them today and tell you about them soon. Look for reviews of new media resources from LifeWay, Crossroads Creative and Christmas resources from Angelhouse Media, Flashlight Films, Highway Video and Worship Films.
If you haven’t already, I’d love for you to join my Facebook group for my upcoming book: Church 2.0. You can find the group HERE. I’d love for you to be a part of the group and join the conversation. Please feel free to post new topics and items for discussion.
Who’s hoping to get a Kindle this Christmas?

Great site! We started using Interactive Worship Live stuff last night and I have bookmarked your blog!

I already have a Kindle-like device, but I can also edit videos and burn DVDs on it. It’s called a PowerBook G4, and I’ll be replacing it with a MacBook Pro for Christmas (actually with part of my unused use-it-or-lose-it Media Dept. 2007 budget).
Is the Kindle really selling well? To me, it seems like a transitionary technology that may not be around for a long time. The design doesn’t seem to be very elegant, either. It’s kinda bulky/blocky-looking (very non Mac-like, or even VAIO-like for that matter). It looks like a big white 1st-generation PDA. And at $400, I wouldn’t consider it a bargain.
I may be way off-base here. The EVDO feature is cool, but do I NEED to get to a book or a newspaper when I’m not near a wifi hotspot?
Once I buy and read a real book, I can keep it or give it to someone who wants (or needs) to read it. What do you do with the Kindle file once you’ve read the book? If it were made to be able to transfer to a Word doc or PDF or something (I’m just guessing it doesn’t), that would be an interesting feature.
I had not seen or heard of this device until your post, and these are just my first-impression thoughts. I’m just a nobody in a mid-sized city, and maybe I’m just slow to change (I’m 40), but I don’t dig the Kindle.
Don’t give Crossroads Creative a bad review because of this, OK? I still like you, Greg.
