I'm doing the Journey with Watermark in Dallas (your buddy Brian Davis turned me on to it). I read this a few day ago, and it's been sticking with me ever since...

1 Peter 3:15b says "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect."

Sometimes, we think we’ve “got it.” We're really good at always being prepared to have "the answer," but we don't always share our faith “with gentleness and respect.” I wonder if our lack of doing so is partly to blame for why the Church leaves a ad taste in America’s mouth.

There are many people in my church who are seeking God's favor, especially for material gain, and God revealed to me that I was falling into that trap as well. So, He has been focusing my attention on 1 Peter 5:5-7, especially on the saying, "God opposes the proud but favors the humble" (NLT). And it seems as if God is reminding me that one shouldn't seek God's favor on stuff. Instead, seek Him, and His favor will follow.

As Matthew 6:33 states, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (NIV)

Genesis. I'm in a hectic stage of life: FT mom of tykes & FT ministry. Felt a little guilty, at first, that I was only daily "reading" one chap. in Genesis. Now, a couple months into it...I've learned something: It's not reading when its God, God's word, and me every morning. It's meditating. And it's been priceless.

Morning Greg!

Based on things going on in my life both personally and professionally, God has taken me back to my favorite passage Psalm 121.

And...if that pondering isn't enough, I've also been reading Ravi Zacharias' "Cries of the Heart: Bringing God Near When He Feels So Far". Excellent reading. However, it can make your head hurt. God has blessed Ravi with such an amazing grasp of apologetics and logic. Wow.
